Aeromedical Training Institute

The Aeromedical Training Institute (AMTI) provides a comprehensive Altitude Chamber Instructor Training program. This program includes both academic instruction (3 days) and hands-on training of chamber operation (2 days). An AMTI instructor will prepare training materials suited to the customer’s training needs and will deliver these materials upon arrival for instructor training. This process creates a turn-key training system where resident instructors become fully qualified to safety and effectively teach AMTI supplied curriculum to air crews.

Altitude Physiology (1 Day Program) – Familiarizes Altitude Chamber Operators, Pilots, Aircrew and Physiologist’s with the physical, physiological, and psychological stresses of the high altitude environment. This course prepares trainees to function and survive in the high altitude environment through knowledge and hands-on training. This course includes Academic training and a flight in an Altitude Chamber. Satisfies the requirements of AF I 11- 403.

Altitude Chamber Operator Training (1 Day Program) – Familiarizes Altitude Chamber Operators and Inside Observers with Pre-Operational Checks, Chamber Profiles Types I – V, Signs & Symptoms of Hypoxia, Hypoxia & Night, Vision, Profile Management, Rapid Decompression Profile, Normal Operations, Emergency Operations. This course includes Academic training and a flight in an Altitude Chamber.
